With over 30 years of experience working in Human Resources in the public and private sector, Mr. Smith was extremely helpful in providing a realistic view of current attitudes towards training in a government setting. He guided me towards the type of topics that would be the most helpful for new supervisors.

Garth D. Smith, MBA

PHR, IPMA-SCP, SHRM-CP

Human Resource Manager

City of Orem

J. Noelle Carter, PhD

Product Manager for Curriculum & Assessment at Imagine Learning

Adjunct Professor, UVU English Dept.

Dr. Carter gave new direction to the project from the viewpoint of understanding how to facilitate adult learning. I was focusing on the content of the training program, but with her experience in instructional design, Dr. Carter was able to point me in the direction of some new resources.

The interviews were extremely valuable in helping me focus on what direction to take with my original idea. Mr. Smith's comments helped me focus on certain areas of training that are generally lacking for new supervisors.

Dr. Carter's insight in instructional design pointed me in a new direction as far as delivery of the training materials. She informed me about the idea of using a flipped classroom approach, as well as the idea of providing mentors for the new supervisors.
