In 1998, I took a job working for the City of Provo as an assistant in the City Council office and that's when I realized how much I enjoyed working in local government. It's exciting to be part of a process that directly impacts the community in a positive way.

When I began working for the City of Springville in 2004, I was given new duties and responsibilities related to hiring, compensation and benefits, and performance evaluations. The more I learned about working with employees and city management, the more I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in Human Resources. I am committed to finding solutions that meet the needs of both the employer and the employee.

I moved to a human resources  position with the City of Draper in 2007. About that same time I began taking classes to complete my Bachelor's degree, knowing that if I wanted to move into management, a degree was essential. I also became PHR certified (Professional in Human Resources) and have maintained those credentials through continuing education credits over the last ten years.

Just recently I was promoted to Human Resources Director. My guiding philosophy is to provide the necessary tools to employees that will help them be successful in their jobs.

I graduate from Utah Valley University in August 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in University Studies. Through UVST, I had the ability to tailor my degree to fit my career choice. I added psychology, behavioral science and sociology classes to my business management core to support both the business and the human sides of my profession. Hire me, and you'll be hiring a Super Human Resources Professional.
